It’s been such a blessing to join and be a part of the GMMA family. I was able to meet new people and now, friends, at NSU and other campuses that encourage and build me up in Christ. This journey of starting GMMA on campus has been amazing because I’ve seen God work through the lives of my friends by calling them to serve as well as God opening doors so that GMMA can be established on campus. From being able to pray with Christ-pursuing healthcare mentors at my first retreat to Spirit-filled conversations at the executive board meetings, God has been so faithful and so good in calling the hearts of those He loves on campus.

I grew up in a Catholic Private education. Through it, I learned how important it is to have a strong relationship with God and to trust that He always has a plan. Coming to NSU, I was unsure of how I would be able to keep my faith strong in Him while getting my education to become a nurse. When I found out about GMMA, I knew I had found my balance between medicine and my faith. GMMA allows me to use my knowledge in medicine to serve Him and others. I believe that this organization will provide me with the right support system that will help me grow academically, mentally, and most of all, spiritually.

Secretary
I am very excited to be a part of GMMA and take part in what the organization stands for. GMMA allows me to be a part of a mission that gives back to those in need and spread God’s message. God has given me so many blessings and GMMA allows me to join others in spreading God’s love. I believe that GMMA inspires me everyday to learn, grow, and take part in God’s mission.
Mya Rivera
Treasurer
Hello everyone! My name is Mya Rivera. I accepted Jesus into my heart when I was eight and haven’t looked back since. GMMA allows me to connect with other people who love Jesus and medicine just as much as I do. Although it has been a lifelong dream of mine to have a career in medicine one day, I know my purpose is so much greater. My purpose is to love Jesus and spread the joy that He has given me to everyone I possibly can. I am so excited to see how God is going to continue to use this organization to be a light for Him.
Tey Um
Historian
Hello everyone, my name is Tey Um and I am very excited to be a part of the GMMA family here at NSU. Even though I attended church services all of my life, I didn’t consider myself christian until I entered High school. During a church camp retreat in high school, I understood how much God loves us and I want to serve his kingdom for the rest of my life! GMMA is just one of the many callings that have been placed in my heart and I will try my best to serve the people we are going out to mission to, the people in GMMA, the people here at NSU, and of course, God.

PR
I am very excited about this chapter of GMMA starting at NSU. Growing up in a Christian household really taught me alot about how important having a relationship with God is. I joined GMMA because I felt God calling me to get out of my comfort zone and serve in this way. I want to serve others that don’t have access to healthcare and the word of God. I pray that with the help of the Lord, my contribution to this organization will expand God’s kingdom
Olivia Singleton
Missions Coordinator
Even though I am very new to GMMA, it has quickly become so important to me. Being part of a group rooted in Christianity that values service the same way I do is so amazing. It combines my two biggest passions of helping others through service and through healthcare. This group has been such a blessing from God and I am already so inspired by the passion each member has shown for their dedication to Christ and to serving others.
Shelynne Restrepo
IOC Chair
Hi everyone! My name is Shelynne Restrepo, I am very excited to join the GMMA chapter at NSU! I was born in a Christian household but never truly understood the depths of my religion until after I moved to the United States with my mom and my little sister. That was when I accepted Jesus into my heart and strengthened my relationship with God. I believe GMMA is a wonderful organization and a great way to serve others while spreading the word of God. I am very excited for what is to come and see how God will use all of us to serve his purpose.
