I love GMMA because it gives me such a unique opportunity to combine my love of healthcare with my love for Christ. I believe that God calls us to worship Him in every capacity that He equips us for. As students we worship through our studies and as (future) professionals we can worship through our practices! GMMA gives amazing opportunities to train both simultaneously!!

Ever since I began high school, I have always had a heart for missions. However, I always questioned how I could continue to pursue this while attending college. That is when I found GMMA. GMMA has allowed me to continue to serve God though I am a student. GMMA has also reminded me that, though saving physical lives is extremely important, as Christians, we must also understand the urgency and importance of saving spiritual lives. Though people may live healthy lives, without the gospel and Christ, all is meaningless. Thus GMMA has allowed me to serve His people and spread His love in a way that also allows me to grow as an individual and gain experience in the world of medicine.

As a student, it’s very easy to become self-center and blinded by our career aspirations, but GMMA and missions remind me that my life is beyond what I see right now. GMMA allows me to broaden my perspective to really live a life that is fulfilling and pleasing before the Lord.

A particular future career interest of mine is to be a part of medical missions so I thought it would be a good idea to get a sense of what these trips are like. Then after hearing that GMMA is a Christian organization that hosts medical missions, I thought it would be great if I could serve God through a career interest of mine. I hope that through this trip, I would see God’s creation and have a heart that wants to serve and that I’d be reminded that life itself should be about serving and spreading God’s glory.

GMMA provides a unique and strong opportunity to follow our calling as Christians. I was very interested in how GMMA combines health education and occupations with ministry and missions. Through GMMA, I hope to grow in my faith as well as grow towards my career goals.

GMMA definitely has brought me closer to God and has kept me accountable for spending more time with Him. When I first came to college, I was longing for a Christian community like the one I have back at home and one where I can go on my first missions trip but was unable to for a while. But by the grace of the Lord, God gave me a church that I can routinely go to and serve in, and He also gave me a club like GMMA to pursue my passions in medicine, serving Him, and going on missions, something that I desired so deeply in my heart every since the start. To me, GMMA is so much more than a club that I am a part of here. GMMA is one where I can not only develop and grow my faith, but it is also one where I can reach out to others, and through Him, carry out His mission of humbly serving the kingdom.
